The pictures I took this weekend were worth millions of words, and most of them were expletives. I exaggerate, but wow, is my transition to an SLR ever more challenging than I thought. Because I was so happy with my first set of pictures, I figured I would go to Fort Tryon Park in uptown Manhattan this weekend and make like Ansel Adams.

I was wrong.

It was overcast and then dark, not to mention rain-splattered. My rudimentary manipulation of the settings turned out as well as Heidi Montag's music career. The camera manual will be one of my reads of the week. Until then, here are more pictures from my first outing.
