I am being driven crazy by the Visa commercial where all the football players serve as metaphors for the multiple layers of Visa credit card security.

I roll my eyes especially hard when the quarterback guy is at a swanky restaurant on a date and he asks, "Can metaphors pay?" The metaphors/football players laugh in unison before issuing a stern, "No."

Metaphors do pay! They got me everywhere I am today, well not really, but metaphors are nonetheless great. More sophisticated than similes. Still...a guy looks like a total scrub when he asks metaphors to pay in front of his date. I hate when that happens.
